Vancouver Clinic: Remove serum from cells promptly to minimize hemolysis and contamination from red cells before freezing and shipping.
Preferred: 3 mL blood in RED TOP tube
Also Acceptable: 3 mL blood in ORANGE RST or GOLD SST
Unacceptable: GREEN TOP tube - Handling Instructions
Aliquot serum/plasma from spun tube promptly and store at -20C.
