Estimated Functional Fibrinogen
General Information
- Lab Name
- Estimated Functional Fibrinogen
- Lab Code
- FLEV
- Description
In the Functional Fibrinogen the TEG 6S instrument assesses blood viscoelastic properties using resonance technology, exposing the blood to a fixed vibration frequency range upon adding calcium and exposure to kaolin and tissue factor with a platelet inhibitor. Clotting is activated with the exclusion of platelets in the clot strength (MA) and thus can determine the fibrinogen contribution.
