Interpretation:

Less than or equal to 3.9 ug Eq/mL is considered negative for circulating complement binding immune complexes.

Circulating immune complexes may be found without any evident pathology and positive results do not necessarily implicate the immune complex in a disease process.

Handling Instructions

Outside Laboratories: Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial. Freeze serum at -20°C while awaiting shipment. Transport samples on dry ice.

• Note: Critical frozen. Submit separate specimens if multiple tests are ordered; aliquot cannot be shared.

Stability: Frozen (required): 14 days; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Ambient: Unacceptable. Avoid thawing.

Reject Due To: Hemolysis, thawed or non-frozen specimens.
