    Outside Laboratories: Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial. Refrigerate serum while awaiting shipment. Transport with a cold pack.

    Stability: Refrigerated (preferred): 28 days; Frozen: 365 days; Ambient: 28 days. Thawing: Warm/cold okay.

    Reject Due To: Gross lipemia or hemolysis.

    Receiving Instructions

    Centrifuge sample and aliquot serum into two separate plastic vials. If sample volume is limited, prioritize the sendout test (RWALT1).

    • RWALT1: 0.5 mL serum placed in refrigerated Mayo Sendouts rack.
    • UW447: 0.5 mL serum placed in frozen (-20°C) Immunology rack.
